What happened this time?

I am sorry that I have been gone for a week but I have been arguing with my lawyer about how to solve this brown water dilemma. Over the last few days the water has been slowly getting better (less brown) but it is still nasty looking. I went out and bought a 100 gallon tank of water that I have to refill every now and then... I am kind of angry about this but I am going to get them in court. I have set many emails and letters to the company drilling up the road and I have even tried visiting the site but there is no one there to talk to. I have left my name, number, and email address with the security and I have yet to get any kind of call or letter back. I doubt they take me seriously but I plan to sue as soon as the results come back and I know if the fluids in my water were injected there by the fracking. I will try and keep you guys updated on whether I am going to get some sort of $$$ out of this or not. I hope I get every penny they have! But I doubt I will even get the value of my house out of it. Maybe I will be able to sell the house without someone realizing the well is shot... I mean seriously who would want a home with a destroyed well? I can't get city water because I live so far out in the country...

I am not a smart man but I do not plan on letting them screw me. Also my template went totally hay wire so I reverted to a default blog template. My little brother started using this site and he wanted me to post this banner around for him. I have no clue what it is or how to use it so I will just leave it here...

Yep, sue the hell out of them. Don't know if you're kidding, but don't try to slide the well by potential buyers. They can sue the hell out of you then.

Dreadnaught said... Reply To This Comment

Damn. Even if its getting better dont think about using it for anything. And make sure you get one hell of a good lawyer and it wouldnt hurt to call the local news. They love this kinda thing. Sue them for everything they got

Axis said... Reply To This Comment

Check out Gasland, it's a documentary about fracking.

Bonafide Jones said... Reply To This Comment

Damn I'm sorry bro that sounds really shitty. I hope you get as much money as you can. And, I like Dreadnaught's idea about calling the local news.

Pat Hatt said... Reply To This Comment

Yeah watch the potential buyer thing, for they can sue you. But I agree sue the crap out of them for all their worth, if you become a billionare don't forget the little guys..lol

I hope you get some compensation for this, but knowing companies they have a limited liability company setup as a shell that will fold as soon as they are done. Typical American rich get richer bullshit.

InfinitePlans said... Reply To This Comment

Yea, hopefully you'll at least get something for it.

Go straight for the local news publicity first, if they beat you in court or screw you over it's probably going end up bad on their part at the very least.

Yep, papers first, then court, because by the time they reach the court they will already be pressurized enough.

Well that is really crappy! Sorry about your water and the drilling company ruining your well.

Julianna said... Reply To This Comment

People do buy homes with wells that are shot. But sadly, usually they are privately funded because banks won't touch them. It's rare, but it does happen.

I grew up with a well, the town we lived in didn't have town water, and it sucked. Every time the next door neighbors did something on their horse farm we had to test the water. UGH.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Luckyjoe said... Reply To This Comment

Man, sorry to hear about your trouble with the well. Our well was bad enough because of heavy sulfur, let alone without some irresponsible company screwing the local water table. I think your best bet is to contact some local newsspapers, TV and radio stations for publicity. Also, if there are any local Universities with Environmental programs, get them to test your water. They'll probably do it for free and they will know how to proceed against industrial polluters. Then sue the polluter's ass off.

Ruth said... Reply To This Comment

Good luck! Until you send them legal papers, they probably will ignore you and hope you just go away.

I hope you get justice. Please keep us posted.

i was thinking about your situation this weekend, when my guy brought home the weekly mostly entertainment, sex & pipe ads type paper that was titled "don't drink the water." it talked about this guy's fight with the oil people in wyoming or wisconsin. hell i don't remember where it was.

R.gers said... Reply To This Comment

It appears to be an ad. :P

Serious, fuck those guys fracking around. You can't be the only one affected by this, what about your neighbors?

Stand up and fight brah. Fracking remains one of my favourite words though. I was so pleased when I learnt it was a real word. Just be careful on taking on a big company, you don't want to lose your house either.

Beyond Timid said... Reply To This Comment

That really sucks, dude. I would tell you to sue them, but it's gonna suck even more if you lose the case.

I'd go with the moving out thing and pray nobody notices the water. Or maybe you should install a water filter to your faucet. They're kinda pricey, but hey, whatever it takes to not lug huge cartons of water home.

Fresh ad. Haha.

These guys are arseholes, you stay strong and sort them out.....

Sujana said... Reply To This Comment

That truly bites! Yea, you should sue them since they're ignoring your mails. After all, water's such a basic human need. They're so inconsiderate.

Hello, friend!
Water is a serious thing.
We must enforce our rights and forced to buy their other duties.
Justifying go well and file claims for material and moral damages.
Good luck!

Hugs!

Check to see if other residents in the area had their water messed up as well.

If there are more of you there are probably going to take your threat more seriously.

Whoa! I think you have too much ads going on. I don't think Adsense would like it.

That's a strange situation. Brown water sounds pretty disgusting. I guess it would depend on whether it's brown from dirt or chocolate.

MRanthrope said... Reply To This Comment

wow, just caught up from your previous post about this oil company/water issue. HORRIBLE news man. Wish you all the best in getting this crap (literally!) taken care of.

A Beer for the Shower said... Reply To This Comment

Wow, I had no idea this was going on, but good for you for talking to a lawyer and taking action. Companies like this think they can just do whatever they want with no consequences, until someone like you steps up and puts them in their place.

Definitely keep us posted!

John McElveen said... Reply To This Comment

Just make sure you document any and ALL potential health issues no matter how small! Rash, cough, upset stomach--ANYTHING!!!

Good luck,

John

Shockgrubz said... Reply To This Comment

I've yet to hear of any fracking cases around me, but I'm almost certain that you'll be up against some deep pockets. I hope your lawyer can pull something out of his hat!

Gene Pool Diva said... Reply To This Comment

I'm not in favor of fracking and dead set against companies that will not interact with their neighbors. When will we learn to live lightly on the land and treat each other with respect?
Don't light any matches near your water supply and let us know what happens.
